The 2011 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event in Palm Beach, Florida will play host to one of the most exciting new sports cars to hit the market in recent years – the Perana Z-one. Designed by legendary Italian coachbuilder, Zagato, the Perana Z-one is a back-to-basics sports car that puts the emphasis back on driver involvement. It builds on Zagato’s nine-decade-long history of building specially-bodied sports and GT cars for some of Europe’s most esteemed makes. The Perana Z-one will have a place of honor in the Showcase Pavilion at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach event April 7-9, 2011.

The Perana Z-one was built as a present from Zagato to itself, a project initiated to show what the firm would build if given a clean sheet of paper. The striking design recalls the dual-purpose racers of the ’50s and ’60s, with elegant Grand Touring looks and blistering performance. With 430-505 horsepower and a curb weight of less than 2,600 pounds, the Perana Z-one goes as well as it looks. In fact, no other sports car on the market offers the Perana Z-one’s combination of style, heritage, performance and value.

Available with your choice of a Corvette LS3, LSA or LS7 engine, the Perana Z-one also recaptures the spirit of the great Italian-American hybrids of the 1960s, combining Italian styling and American muscle. The Perana Z-one is being sold in the U.S. exclusively through Superformance Distribution, a company known for its unfaltering customer service and huge dealer network. Sold as a TKM (Turn-Key Minus), customers have their choice of powerplant and installer. The base price of the Perana Z-one roller has been set at just a fraction of what other Zagato-badged vehicles have sold for.

Limited to just 99 units per annum, the Perana Z-one is sure to be a future collectible. For buyers wanting something even more unique, the Barrett-Jackson 40th Anniversary Perana Z-one is available in commemoration of the best-known auction house’s 40 years in offering some of the most exquisite collector car events around. The Barrett-Jackson edition Perana Z-one will be limited to just 40 units and will include a specially designed David Yurman watch and keychain. Like Zagato, David Yurman is known for its leading edge design work and reputation as one of the most prestigious names among collectors of fine luxury goods.

The Barrett-Jackson 40th Anniversary Edition Perana Z-one to be displayed in Palm Beach is painted black cherry, one of the new shades in the Sherwin-Williams Planet Color Barrett-Jackson line of automotive paints. Other colors are available. It also features special black and red wheels, evoking the Barrett-Jackson logo colors. All 40 of the special editions will be presented with a boxed David Yurman watch and Perana logo keychain. The first 20 Barrett-Jackson 40th Anniversary Perana Z-one models will be presented with an even more exclusive David Yurman watch featuring a black diamond bezel.

Perana Z-one Background

The Perana project is the result of legendary Milanese coachbuilder Zagato’s nine-decade-long expertise in constructing specially-bodied sports cars and GTs for some of Europe’s most established makes. The first car to be designed as a bespoke project, the Z-one is very much a back to basics, no frills sports car which demands driver input beyond that required by the established players in this segment of the market.

The use of emission-compliant GM E-Rod LS-series crate engines ensures high performance, drivability, reliability and serviceability. The General Motors Performance Parts crate engines also come with a full 24-month, 50,000-mile warranty from GMPP. Limited to just 999 units per annum, there is no car currently available that boasts this level of exclusivity, power, performance and styling…especially at such an unparalleled price.
